Smile on the Mind

I believe Andrea brought this book in last class and it reminded me how much I love the cover. Smile on the Mind is the required text for my Creative Concept class. After taking Amy’s book design class this past summer, I have grown a new appreciation for books. I could wander Barnes & Noble forever. I love a book cover that strictly uses typography in an interesting way to convey its message, and Smile on the Mind does just that. Just by rotating the "D" at the end of the book title the designer created a witty nod to the aha moment you have when you figure out a cleaver piece of work. It’s so simple, but I think this is great use of typography.
