Show & Tell: Information Graphics

I'll be honest, infographs confuse me. I know the point of them is to present a plethora of information in one fell swoop, but the more info that is piled on the more turned off by the piece I am. Anyway, below is my example of a good infograph ...

This graph is explaining the largest bankruptcies dating back to 1987. The key at the bottom is labeled perfectly and explains everything you are supposed to get out of the graphic. Plus, I think the use of the sinking boats/ships is clever.

And here I present you with what I consider a bad infographic. It hurts my head to look at this, and half the time I can't even figure out what number is supposed to go with what because it's all a jumbled mess.

  1. That bad infographic truly is awful! There are way too many numbers to even look at. What a mess!

  2. Ooh I really like that good infographic, especially the sinking ships standing for bankruptcies.
