We all have one. That go to typeface that we use for everything. Bembo and Univers are the official typefaces for the University of Maryland, College Park (where I work), so they are my go to's by default. Don't get me wrong, I like them. Bembo is classic, and a good typeface to represent the university. And what's not to love about Univers ... there's a million weights to choose from. The possibilities are endless.
Outside of specific pieces I'm working on for the university, I use Verdana. It's my default email typeface. I even set that to be my blog typeface without even taking a minute to think about it. According to an article posted on Ragan.com the typeface Verdana classifies me as "tech-savvy, quick to measure your company's ROI on its newest social media efforts. Your message is always clean and legible." I’d have to say that only half of that statement is true for me. Yeah, I see myself as a pretty tech-savvy individual, but I don’t really hold up to social media standards. I’m not even on Facebook. My work is always clean and legible (well, for the most part), so at least they got that right.

Typeface Inspired by Comic Books Has Become a Font of Ill Will
My life is Frutiger and Minion. Although I love our brand, it would be nice to have variety. I posted this decal in my office...at least I get to SEE all these fonts on a regular basis, even if I don't use them. Check it out:
