Last class while we were going over our project 6 infograph comps typeface choice came up a lot. There are my trusty favs that I always turn to ... Univers, Bembo, Gill Sans ... and I was happy to see they made Jacob Cass' 30 Fonts to Last A Lifetime. I found this list to be super helpful, so I wanted to share. He notes what each typeface is best suited for and gives a little preview shot of each. Typography is a huge part of design, and something that every designer should know how to work with. It can create a sense of hierarchy and even be worked with to create a visual element. I'm one of those typeface geeks, so anytime I see something about typefaces I always take the time to learn more.
Wow, this is a great resource! It's also really depressing that I hardly have any of these on my computer!
